She makes it a show, drinking from the bottle. Swills it around, arches back her neck, lets her hair splay along her back. It goes down warm, goes down smooth, and she licks the long bottleneck. Not gaudy. Just a smooth lick, tongue darting in, out, and Denmark inhales through his nose. Ice watches her with his dark eyes, sitting on the bed. She thinks she tells Den that Ice is lonely, and he’s eager, like a big dog, to please. She drinks, and watches, as Denmark leans over him, sloppy, kissing him and pinning him down. Ice makes a soft, mewling sound, and she unbraids her hair, letting the cross fall across her fingers.
